The Häagen-Dazs Rose Project is our heartfelt global initiative to support women at all levels, in honour of our inspirational yet unsung co-founder Rose Mattus.
While her husband, Reuben, is widely celebrated for making our ice cream, it was Rose who broke glass ceilings with her pioneering marketing approach and business knowledge to shape Häagen-Dazs into the brand that we know and love today. Until 2023, her story went largely unrecognised. On International Women’s Day 2023, Häagen-Dazs celebrated her story and launched The Häagen-Dazs Rose Project as her legacy.
On what would have been Rose’s birthday on 23rd November 2023, The Häagen-Dazs Rose Project is excited to announce our shortlist of 50 trailblazing yet unsung #WomenWhoDontHoldBack from thousands of nominations across the globe.
From an inspirational all-female global panel of judges, on International Women’s Day 8th March 2024, five of these incredible women will be awarded their share of our $100,000 USD bursary to continue their trailblazing endeavours.

OUR TOP 50 NOMINEES
Over 2,500 nominations were submitted globally in our first year of The Häagen-Dazs Rose Project to recognise #WomenWhoDontHoldBack and celebrate their commendable achievements and societal contributions. From these, 50 inspirational and talented women from 17 different countries have now been shortlisted for their significant efforts, and now have a chance to win one of five monetary grants of $20,000 (USD).

OUR GLOBAL JUDGING PANEL
A highly accomplished all-female judging panel from around the world has been appointed for this next stage of The Häagen-Dazs Rose Project. Inspirational, passionate and representative of the global nature of this project and our brand, the judges will now come together to select our five Rose Project Honourees from the Top 50 list, which will be announced on International Women’s Day 2024.
